I grew up in DC and I admit that my mother was an historian and dragged us all over the East Coast to historic sites. I was never in my entire life moved until as an adult, I went back to DC to visit and went to the Vietnam Memorial. I didn't know anyone involved in it or anyone lost, but I walked along that black wall, all those thousands and thousands of tiny names etched into it and the impact of the war became a tactile thing. I had to turn away and stop the tears. It was just so bleak and so sad watching people finding their family member's names and touching them with their fingers. Gorgeous picture!

I have friends whose names are etched on the wall, and hundreds of pictures of it that I have taken over the years. Your beautiful picture says it all.

I like the way you captured the image of the man standing there and taking it all in. I have a picture of my Mom doing the same thing only it was at night. Very nice....
